I started what has evolved into HomeBasedChristians.com back in 2001, when I first came online looking to start a Christian home business. At the time there wasn't many resource websites where one could go for support or resources, let alone with a Christian basis. At first, this was an extension of our network marketing website, but has truly become a stand alone resource.
First, let me say that I absolutely love the internet! The potential to generate an income while sitting at home in your pj's (like I am now!) has become a reality for many people. Today there are so many ways to make money on the internet.
And with that come a barrage of scams and sites that offer total garbage information.
When I first got started on the net, there were network marketing and direct sales companies just starting to develop a web presence. Affiliate marketing programs were becoming popular and content and niche sites were springing up all over. I spent a great deal of time and money getting my "advanced degree in internet marketing."
And I learned the hard way...
Just Because Someone Calls Themself a Christian and Has a "Christian Home Business" doesn't make it so...
I'll admit it. I was nieve. I like to take people at face value. If they tell me they are a Christian and operate a home business according to "Christian" principles and I partner with them on a project, then I expect a certain standard of operation.
It still amazes me to this day the compromises some "Christians" make in the pursuit of the almighty dollar. I have seen it all - from outright theft, copyright infringement, omissions of important information, spammers, and a total 'what's in it for me' attitude.
I made HomeBasedChristians.com for people like us.
People who want to run a home business by the Book.
People who want business ideas that work.
People who resources that work that don't break the bank.
People who want support and tips from people they can trust.
Does that describe you? Then you'll appreciate what my Christian work at home website offers. I'll spare you the headaches (and wasted money!) of going through the immense offerings on the net and break down for you what really works. You'll find information on how to manage and grow your business from reliable resources; I have been blessed to have eventually found many wonderful and trustworthy Christian home business owners. There's even prayer support if you need it.
There are a few things missing from my Christian home business website, however. I don't think you will miss them though. You won't see any scams, pyramid, or ponzi schemes. No gifting sites, either. No get rich quick or "fast internet cash" plans. You won't see anything that promises overnight riches, either. Promise. ;-)
One more thing I can promise you is this...I will not pitch you my direct sales company. Oh, you will see a link or banner on HomebasedChristians.com. And info on my bio/feature page (hey, I'm not stupid!), but you won't find me writing about it anywhere else on my site. My whole goal is to give you the necessary tips, tools, and resources to start or grow your Christian home business.
If you are looking for a work at home job and not a home business, many things on my site will still apply to you. I am reviewing several work at home jobs websites and will be expanding that section of the site throughout 2009.
