“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.” Ecc. 4:9-12
Another way to make prayer a useful tool in your Christian home business is to secure for yourself and your business a prayer team. Usually, there are many prayer groups for moms, men, and youth. The prayer team I’m talking about is a group of people- usually other home business owners- whom you know and trust that you specifically request to pray for each others’ businesses. It is a great way to go the extra mile to put your business on the right track.
I participated in one a few years back and I enjoyed it very much. Our Christian work at home mom group started out on Sunday night conference calls, and eventually we got really ambitious and started praying each morning. Since we had become good friends, we did more chatting than praying! Eventually, the daily meetings were too much and the group disbanded.
When selecting your prayer team, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- You will want to find those who understand you and your business, your goals and also those who you know are diligent in their prayer life.
- Keep to the topic of prayer, it is so easy when mentioning requests to get into story telling. I suggest that the person needing the prayer starts praying about it and then others join in agreement.
- After finding your prayer partners, you will want to keep them up to date on how you and your business are doing as well as notify them when you have special prayer requests about your business.
- An easy way to get together is to use conference calling. You can get a free number at freeconference.com. A private forum or chat room at a social networking site is good to keep up with requests and praise reports during the week. Just make sure it is password protected. Another option is a Yahoo or Google groups.
So, before you take another step in your business, take time out and do the one thing that can ensure that your business either remains successful, becomes successful, or is a success as you launch it - pray!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Maureen

Good article. This is right along the lines of what we do. We believe that Christian businesses have a unique opportunity to be the extension of Christ’s hand in the marketplace. Our goal is to support Christian businesses and their owners through prayer. We currently have a team of Christian business professionals, representing multiple churches, who gather to pray over Christian businesses. Our only request is that the owners be present when we pray. The team will pray:
That God will pour out his favor on these businesses
He will bless the owners with wisdom
Open doors of opportunity
Open the windows of Heaven (particularly during this season, as we believe that there is no recession in heaven…ever)
We pray over business leadership; that God would give them favor with their customers along with wisdom and strategy on how to position their business
We believe that Christian businesses, as they grow and prosper, will in turn sow back into the churches they attend and the whole body of Christ will be better equipped to expand the kingdom of God. OUr desire is to sow into Christian-owned businesses and come along side our brotherrs and sisters who are on the front lines in the marketplace.
Anyone can do what you are talking about, it does not take a super Christian to do it.

Any businesses require a lot of commitment of time and money to get started. However, an Internet Business doesn’t require as much money to get started as a conventional business, but it does require a lot of time and some money
Matthew, you’re not kidding about that! Considering all of the options and the many “shiny objects” competing for the WAH mom or dad’s time and money, having at least one person praying for you and your business is so important. It’s especially powerful if that person can be your spouse. When my husband is supporting me things seem much clearer and progress happens.
